  • Descrizione: G. W. Pabst’s anti-war classic tells the story of four German soldiers on the Western Front in France in the last year of the First World War. The Bavarian sees the war primarily as an adventure. The student has his first experience of true love with the French Yvette. Their superior, the Lieutenant, has one focus only: carrying out his duty. After Karl, the fourth member of the group, returns home on leave and is surprised to find his wife in bed with the butcher’s apprentice, the four of them meet their fate.
